Right to Buy Standards

Right to buy is a scheme that lets you buy your council home if you meet the criteria set out by government.

Buying a property is one of the biggest decisions and investments you may make. It is important to remember that if you can't keep up the repayments on your mortgage you may lose your home.

We will:

Provide you with information about your Right To Buy and an application form within five working days of your request.
Acknowledge receipt of your Right to Buy application within five working days of receiving the form.
Send a letter telling you whether or not you have the Right to Buy within four weeks of receiving your application form.
Provide you with timely advice and assistance in the whole process of your Right to Buy application.
