Salix Homes. Releasing the potential

Salix Homes shines in customer service rating

Housing company Salix Homes has achieved national recognition for the level of customer service it provides residents.

The organisation, which looks after around 10,500 homes on behalf of Salford City Council, received the Customer Service Excellence standard after a review by an independent assessor.

The Centre for Assessment which rates public services on behalf of the government commended Salix Homes for 'its commitment to providing excellent service' and for 'putting the customer at the heart of everything'.

It praises Salix Homes for its commitment to communities in central Salford and the work it does with local groups through its Winning In Neighbourhood (WIN) Days to make communities better places to live.

The report says the company has an 'excellent approach' to understanding customers' needs and 'excellent' consultation processes to get local people involved in shaping services.

Partnership working between Salix Homes, the city council and other agencies, and the systems used to help deal with customer enquiries were also highlighted as key strengths.

Alison Hill, Salix Homes' director of improvement and customer service said: "This is great news for us and our residents and we're really pleased that we've been given a seal of approval for how we look after our customers.

"It's reassurance to all of our customers that they matter to us and that we do everything we can to provide them with quality services face-to-face, over the phone and internet and out in our communities."

Added Councillor Peter Connor, Salford City Council's lead member for housing services added: "We're delighted that Salix Homes has gained recognition for improving standards of customer service. This is a real endorsement of the improvements they are making in central Salford for the benefit of communities and residents."
