New Barracks residents celebrate Decent Homes launch

Tuesday 16 February saw Salix Homes and the New Barracks Co-op launch the Decent Homes Retrofit scheme for the New Barracks area in Ordsall.

The event, at the Salford Lads and Girls Club, saw representatives from HT Forrest, Arup, British Gas, Salford City Council (Energy Efficiency) as well as the Co-op and Salix Homes on hand to answer any queries residents had about the scheme.

Residents were entered into a free prize draw in which one lucky resident won a DVD player. A free Eco kettle was also offered to every household which was kindly donated by HT Forrest.

Residents also got their first opportunity to look inside a freshly refurbished property in the area which proved a huge success.

The turnout for this event was particularly high and feedback from residents was very positive. The general consensus is that everyone can't wait to get the works started and their homes improved!
