Olympic Torch coming to Salford!
The excitement is building as the Olympic Torch is coming to Salford this weekend! Find out where and when you can catch a glimpse of it for yourself...
The Olympic Torch Relay will be travelling through Higher Broughton on Saturday 23 June 2012.
It will enter Salford from Prestwich on Bury Old Road at 5.10pm, turning right along Leicester Road and then left onto Great Cheetham Street West. It will leave Salford at 5.32 pm, entering Manchester on St James's Road.
The Olympic torch will be lit on the MediaCityUK piazza on Salford Quays at 05.59 am on Sunday 24 June. It will then travel across the Lowry plaza, before crossing the Lowry footbridge into Trafford.
Parking at the Lowry shopping centre will be free from 5am until 7.30am that morning to allow spectators to come along.
