Salix Homes. Releasing the potential

Supported Housing

Older peoples housing services

If you are getting older and feel you would like to move into a flat or bungalow with warden support, we have a number of Sheltered accommodation schemes available which are listed below. Simply click on the name of the scheme to see where it is located on a map. In sheltered housing, we can provide you with support and opportunities to take part in social activities.

Alternatively, we also offer a service called Care on Call to people living in their own home who want to maintain their independence. Details of Care on Call can be obtained by calling us on 0161 737 3822. The Care on Call service is for people who would like the reassurance of having help on hand for emergencies. A leaflet is available explaining the service, including how the service connects customers to a 24-hour control centre, providing cover every day of the year. The friendly, professionally trained Care on Call staff can also make regular visits if required as well as responding to emergencies. The service is available to tenants living in housing which is not already warden supported.

Tenancy Support

If you have been offered a Salix Home or you already live in one, and you would like some support to manage it, for example to settle in and contact utility suppliers, assist you in managing rent payments or debts, accessing medical and specialist services, training, education and leisure activities, then you should contact the Supporting Neighbourhoods Team on 0161 779 8040 or e-mail supporting.neighbourhoods@salixhomes.org. Whilst Salix Homes does not provide a supported tenancy service directly we can give you advice and refer you on to other service providers who may be able to assist you.

You can also find out about a whole range of supported housing services in Salford by using the council's on-line service information directory .
