Salix Homes. Releasing the potential

Bowling green back on form after tidy up

A local bowling green is back on top form after getting a new lease of life from staff at Salix Homes.

Employees tidied up the green at the Chandos Bowling Club in Weaste by giving the parameter a new lick of paint and weeding the area ready for an open day at the club on Sunday 19 April.

The work was done by Salford City Council's housing management company as part of a Winning in Neighbourhoods (WIN) Days initiative launched by the organisation to give staff time out of their day-to-day roles to get involved in community projects.

Sue Sutton, Salix Homes' head of better neighbourhoods said: "As well as being a housing landlord, Salix Homes is committed to making neighbourhoods in central Salford better places to live and work and WIN Days is a way of supporting local projects that help to do just that.

"Getting involved in these projects gives us chance to get to know the communities we work in and meet the people that live in them which will help us to improve our services."

If you know a local project, charity or school that would benefit from the help of staff at Salix Homes, contact Mike Johnston on 0161 779 8848 or email mike.johnston@salixhomes.org.
