Meets regularly, every 6-8 weeks. Meetings take place on a Thursday evening 6.30pm -8.30pm at Diamond House, a buffet available from 6.00pm. Visit our What's On calendar to see when the next meeting will be.

The panel has responsibility to oversee the delivery of the Better Neighbourhood Strategy in relation to the environment. The panel focuses on:

Monitoring compliance with the service level agreement in relation to grounds maintenance.
Monitoring performance and satisfaction with the caretaking and cleaning service delivered to apartment blocks
Monitoring impact of ‘Rate Your Neighbourhood' surveys, monthly neighbourhood walkabouts and apartment block inspections
Monitoring key performance indicators
Managing a devolved budget to improve the local environment in neighbourhoods.
Developing links and channels of communication with the other panels to ensure continuity of service standards, benchmarking, sharing good practice, and networking
Provides a nominated member to the Customer Senate and the Communications Panel.

The panel has a forward plan of business that supports the service delivery of the Better Neighbourhood Strategy and the panel is integral to delivering service improvements.

The panel has influenced some significant business decisions. For example:

Steered the Best Value Review of Caretaking and Cleaning Services to conclusion and the launch of new service delivery arrangements.
Monthly neighbourhood and apartment block inspection timetable.
Performance management framework for neighbourhood and block inspections.
Actively monitors of grounds maintenance service level agreement, through site visits.
Supported and developed a mechanism for customer led neighbourhood inspections, giving residents the opportunity to evaluate their local environmental quality; ‘Rate Your Neighbourhood' survey.
Developed and delivered a pictorial guide to local environmental quality standards to support neighbourhood inspections.
Developed and delivered a pictorial guide to caretaking and cleaning standards to support apartment block inspections.
Developed and influenced the Better Neighbourhoods Strategy.
Influenced, developed and management of Devolved Environmental Budget to ensure that the needs and aspirations of local people influence positive outcomes in neighbourhoods.
