Salix Homes. Releasing the potential

Community spring clean

A community spring clean up of streets in Weaste is taking place on Saturday 21 March.

The litter picking event has been organised by Salford City Council's environmental education team and will see employees from Salix Homes and residents lend a helping hand.

Staff from the council's housing management company are getting involved as part of a Win Days initiative to encourage them to get to know the area and give something back to the community.

Volunteers from Salix Homes' construction partner HT Forrest will also be taking part and a children's poster competition will be run on the day..

Similar events have been run across the city over the last year.

Anyone who wishes to join the event can do so by turning up at the junction of Dolby Park and Sandray Grove at 1pm.

Councillor Keith Mann, lead member for the environment at Salford City Council said: "Spring clean activities like this help to bring communities together and make areas better places to live.

"It's also and opportunity for youngsters to get involved in and learn about the environment in a fun way."

Added Sue Sutton, Salix Homes' head of better neighbourhood : "This is a chance for us to get out and about and make a difference in our communities and learn more about local people which will help us to provide better quality of services for our customers."
