What is DARE?
Dream. Aspire. Reward. Excel.
DARE is a ‘pot of money' or fund that is given out by the Salix Homes Youth Panel. DARE offers Salix Homes customers aged 16-24 the opportunity to apply for a grant of up to £500 to assist them with achieving a goal. Individual young people are invited to submit funding applications to help with one or more of the following:

What is the Youth Panel?
The Youth Panel is an independent panel made up of local young people aged 16-24 who live in a Salix Homes property. In addition to reviewing our services for young people they also manage a fund which is used to support opportunities for young people - DARE.
The Panel meet regularly to review applications. Only full applications submitted with supporting evidence will be reviewed.
Who can apply?
- You must be aged 16-24
- You must live in a Salix Homes property
- You must have access to a bank account
- You must provide evidence relating to what the money is for.
What is the process?
Send in your completed application form to us with all evidence and supporting information. For example, acceptance letter from an employer or college, breakdown of costs from employer or college or relevant website.
A letter will be sent out within 5 working days to confirm we have received your application and letting you know when your application will go to the Youth Panel.
After the Youth Panel has met we will let you know the decision within 5 working days. The Panel's decision is final. If you are successful in receiving funding you will need to give us copies of receipts and evidence relating to what it's been spent on. For example, photographs or evaluation forms.
