Diversity month
March saw a number of events which were aimed at 'Celebrating Diversity..The Salix Way'
We are looking to recognise and celebrate the uniqueness of Central Salford through a number of events, intended to provoke thinking around some of the issues which exist in the area. The month marked the start of our new approach to Equality and Diversity, March aslo saw our new Equality and Diversity Strategy launched.
We have had a number of events for staff, to name but a few ...our staff were able to have go at the Citizenship test, become trained in sign language or attend one of the sessions to learn more from guest speakers from local agencies who provide invaluable support to some of our customers.
The event, "Know Your Central Salford" rounded off on the 28th, March. There was a variety of agencies in attendance, who hosted stalls to showcase how they are actively reducing inequalities and valuing diversity in the area. Staff, customers and stakeholders are all invited. The day was aimed at equipping those in attendance with the knowledge of the number of networks that exist in the area, and start some thinking about how we can tackle some of the issues in the area more effectively together.
