Warm up those vocal chords for Christmas Songs in Islington Park
It's the time of year to get festive, with nothing better than celebrating with close friends and family at the annual Islington Christmas Celebration.
Organised by the Friends of Islington Park, the Islington Estate Tenants and Residents Association, St Philips School and Salix Homes, this festive treat took place in Islington Park earlier in this week.
Entertainment was provided by local school children, who performed a spirit warming selection of Christmas songs for local residents, business and visitors alike.
After an invigorating morning of Christmas songs, the celebrations continued at the Islington Community Centre at Canon Hussey Court with warming drinks and festive treats.
Kevin O'Neill, Vice Secretary at the Islington Estate Tenants and Residents Association said:
"Christmas is a really special time of year and it's great to be able to come together as a community to celebrate together. This is the third year we have held this event and attendance grows each year. It is always good to see the children, local residents, local businesses and visitors join together to celebrate the season."
Sue Sutton, director of customer and neighbourhood services said:
"The Islington community run some fantastic projects and we're proud to support and help out with these events. The carol concert seems to get bigger and better every year and is a great way to get the whole of the community to join in the festive spirit."
