New Environment teams to improve neighbourhoods

A new team dedicated to keeping neighbourhoods clean and tidy is being launched by Salix Homes.
In partnership with Salford City Council Environmental Services, Salix Homes' has created 5 new environmental maintenance teams who will take on responsibility for the management of local areas around council homes in Central Salford.
The teams will carry out work including cutting the grass, tree and hedge pruning and shrub and rose bed maintenance.
They will also ensure that problems like litter, fly-tipping, abandoned vehicles and graffiti are dealt with quickly.
Jonathan Drake Head of Neighbourhood Services for Salix Homes, said: "This new approach to the management of the areas around our homes has been introduced as part of Salix Homes' commitment to creating better neighbourhoods.
This team is set to become a familiar sight in Central Salford and residents can expect to see improvements to the local environment thanks to their work."
