There are 7 easy ways to pay your rent

  • Online
  • Standing order
  • On the phone
  • At a PayPoint outlet
  • At the Post Office
  • By post
  • Direct Debit

Direct Debit
This is the most convenient and stress free way to pay your rent and is also our preferred method of payment. Setting up a Direct Debit couldn't be easier, just give us a call! Your rent will automatically be paid on the date you have requested. Remember to make sure you have enough money in your bank account on the payment date or you could end up with a charge from your bank. If you don't have a bank account and would like to set one up so that you can pay by Direct Debit then contact our Money Advice Team who can help you to do this.

Online 24 hours a day
You can pay your rent online at any time of the day. Simply go to Make sure you have your rent account number and a debit or credit card to hand. You can also pay quickly and easily via our free Phone app!

By standing order
Pay by standing order and choose a payment date to suit you, just call us for a form. Just remember that if the amount of rent you pay changes then you will need to change the standing order at your bank.

On the phone
Call 0800 218 8000 (local rate for mobile phones 0161 909 6559) from the comfort of your own home and pay with your debit or credit card. Or call the council's 24 hour automated phone line on 0161 793 3325.

At a PayPoint outlet using a rent payment card
Take your rent payment card and use any of the PayPoint outlets and kiosks at petrol stations, newsagents and supermarkets across Salford. There is no charge for this. Just hand over your rent payment card and the cashier will do the rest.

At the Post Office
Use your rent payment card for free and pay with cash, card or a cheque made payable to Post Office Limited.

By post
Send your payments direct to us. Just put a cheque made payable to Salford City Council in the post to; Salix Homes, Income Management Team, Diamond House, 2 Peel Cross Road, Salford, M5 4DT.
