Pendleton Private Finance Initiative (PFI)

Salford City Council undertook a full housing options review over an 18 month period from 2004-5 to determine the most suitable course of action to invest in its council housing stock to meet the Government's Decent Homes Standard (DHS).

Following this review tenants and leaseholders living within Salford Council housing had identified the following preferences for future housing investment within their areas:

Area of Salford	Preferred Option
Central Salford	Arms Length Management Organisation (ALMO) - now Salix Homes
West Salford	Stock Transfer - now Citywest Housing Trust
Pendleton	Private Finance Initiative (PFI)

Officers are now working, on behalf of the local community, to deliver the PFI investment option for the Pendleton area of the city.
