The panel will oversee the delivery of the Better Neighbourhoods Strategy in regard of safer neighbourhoods and achieving the RESPECT standard for tackling anti-social behavior. The panel is responsible to:

Monitor the delivery of the Better Neighbourhoods Strategy in regard of safer neighbourhoods
Monitor the delivery of the First Response service
To be involved in any review of service
Monitor key performance indicators
Monitor compliance with the RESPECT standard
Develop and support intervention initiatives
Develop links and channels of communication with the other panels to ensure continuity of service standards, benchmarking, sharing good practice, and networking
Provide a nominated member to the Customer Senate and the Communications Panel.

The panel has a forward plan of business that supports the service action plan the panel is integral to delivering service improvements.

What the Panel has influenced so far...

The panel has influenced some significant business decisions. For example:

Reinforcement of zero tolerance of ASB
Launch of the First Response Team, an enhanced out of hours service
Adoption of Salix Homes customer contact points as third party reporting centres for hate crime
