Salix Homes. Releasing the potential

Salford Stars event

As part of  Salix Homes Customer Involvement Strategy, we are hosting an event  on the evening of Friday, 16th January 2009, at The Lowry Centre, Salford.  The event will celebrate customers who volunteer and get involved with the services in Central Salford.

Examples of types of activities that individuals/groups could be nominated for are given below;

  • Good Neighbour Star:  An individual who goes that extra mile to help others
  • Better Environment Star: A group or individual who has shown commitment to improving their environment with innovative ideas
  • Outstanding Young Star: A young person aged under 25 who shows commitment to their neighbourhood and is involved with meaningful activities
  • Community Initiatives & Enterprise Stars: A group or individual who has developed an  initiative, activity or business for the good of the neighbourhood
  • Community Safety Star: A group or individual who have helped make a safer place to live, neighbourhood watch or similar
  • Older People's Star: A person who has shown a particular interest and work with older  people or who is considered as a champion for older people
  • Inclusion Star: An individual or group who have gone the extra mile or arranged an activity or event to get different groups working together. For example, younger, older, people with disabilities, people from different backgrounds.
  • Outstanding Achievement Star: An individual who has shown outstanding commitment to involvement with Salix Homes.

Every individual/group who is nominated as a Salix Homes Salford Star will receive a framed certificate as recognition for the wonderful work they do, with a special ‘Star’ award going to those people/groups who receive the most nominations in the various categories.
