Salix 600 launch

Sign up for your say on local services
Residents gathered in Salford City Reds stadium this weekend to launch a new scheme which allows them to help shape services in their community.
The Salix 600 initiative run by Salix Homes, Salford City Council's housing management company for Central Salford gives residents a chance to have their say on services and key decisions in their area.
Salix Homes are well on their way to having over 1000 residents signed up to the scheme to become more involved in the way housing services are delivered in Central Salford.
Members will be able to say where money should be spent and how they would like to see issues like anti-social behaviour tackled in their neighbourhoods.
In addition, members can take part in consultations to help improve services and join committee groups.
The Salix 600 is part of a wider Count Me In initiative run by Salix Homes which allows residents to volunteer as much or as little of their time to help develop services for local people.
Kevin Scarlett, chief executive at Salix Homes said: "We value the opinions of everyone who lives in Central Salford and who better to help us improve our services than the people who use them everyday.
"This is all about giving our residents a voice and we'd like to encourage more people to sign up to help make a difference in their community."
If you live in the Central Salford area and would like to become a member of the Salix 600, please contact Ken Morton on 0161 779 8843 or email ken.morton@salixhomes.org.
To be eligible for membership you must live in one of the following areas:
Rainsough, Beechfarm, Higher Broughton, Lower Broughton, Black Friars, Trinity, Islington, Kersall, Charlestown, Pendleton, Langworthy, Claremont, Weaste & Seedley and Ordsall.
