Regenerating Central Salford doesn’t stop at housing. We know it’s also about helping people breakdown barriers to issues such as finding work and dealing with finances.
As a result, we have set up a scheme called Work Pays... Money Counts, designed to help you and point you in the right direction for any difficulties you may be having with your work or finance needs.
If you would like more information on helping you with your work and financial needs you can request our Work pays...money counts information pack by calling Salix Direct on 0800 218 2000 or email us on enquiries@salixhomes.org. Or click here to download the leaflet.
Improving your work prospects
We want to help people in Central Salford improve their skills so they have a better chance of finding work.
We’ve been working with our partners to come up with a range of plans to train and employ local people. Although we won’t be taking the place of agencies like Job Centre Plus , we are finding ways of giving people another way to find training and employment. Here are some of the ways we are trying to help.
Career in construction?
![]() |
We’ve helped set up a construction company called B4Box that employs skilled and unskilled people to renovate properties. The skilled people train the unskilled people and help them gain a qualification in construction. Then we’re helping them with the next step. That might be getting a job with a local construction firm, gaining a higher qualification or becoming self-employed. |
Local businesses
We want to help local businesses too and help them employ local people. That means helping to start new businesses and expand existing ones. We want to give local people better skills and a sense of pride. We want to show them that training and work are available to them.
